Software Architect/Lead Developer/Consultant  Ultimate Sports Systems Ltd (10/2025 to present)

• Architecting and developing a cloud-based suite of software products for the angling industry, together with software consultancy services

• Designing the solution using Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture and Clean Code principles, organised into bounded contexts including Fishery Management, Club Management, Competition Management, Fishing Diary, Content Management and Identity.

• Implementing a modular, event-driven architecture using C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, Blazor, SQL Server, MongoDB, RabbitMQ and Azure services, with asynchronous processing through microservices where appropriate.

• Integrating AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) to deliver intelligent features, including location-based fishing recommendations, weather and sea-condition analysis, and the discovery and summarisation of relevant online content(Places to fish and latest news). There is a roadmap for further AI-assisted decision support and computer vision capabilities.

• Used developer tools (Resharper,  Visual Studio) to ensure high quality clean code. 

Chapter Lead and Line Manager - Allpay Ltd.  (11-2023 to 10-2025)

Using C#, .Net Core, Microsoft Azure, Blazor, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, micro-services, and Devops (YAML,  Bicep) to develop a new enterprise scale financial payments system. I led 2 cross-functional teams of engineers in creating the new new prepayment banking card solution. The system was an event driven and microservices solution in Azure. I provided both technical leadership and people management to guide the teams in delivering a scalable and reliable solution. 

• Implemented agile practices (SCRUM, CI/CD pipelines) that streamlined workflows and enabled faster, higher-quality deployments. 

• Conducted code reviews and architecture design sessions to ensure adherence to best practices and maintainable solutions.  

• Refactored Code to pass SonarQube rules for improved code standards.

Using C#, ASP.Net, .Net Core, Angular, SQL Server, Java, Google Cloud Services, and micro-services, I maintained and developed new functionality for the back end and office systems of a large online shop. 

• Improved performance of these systems focusing on SQL Server database queries.
